Fenton Schools Ready for Homecoming Weekend

Parade, football game and dance coming up.

Fenton is going for the gold with its Homecoming theme this week —  the Olympics.

The Homecoming Parade begins today at 4:30 p.m., at the Ellen Street Campus, according to the school district's website. Fenton City Council approved the parade on Monday.

Students at Fenton High School will get pumped up for Homecoming weekend activities with a pep rally and early dismissal today.

The parade will start at the Ellen Street Campus, head south on Adelaide to Shiawasee, east on Shiawasee to South Leroy Street, north on Leroy to Caroline  to West Street and south on West, back to the Ellen Street Campus.

Tonight, Fenton High School’s varsity football team will play Lapeer East in the Homecoming game, and the Homecoming queen will receive her crown during halftime. The game begins at 7 p.m.

This year’s Homecoming Queen’s Court includes seniors Alicia Crane, Mary Geib, Cara Kaye, Payton Maxheimer, and Elle White, Starr said. The King’s Court includes seniors Alex Branoff, Alex Fleck, Craig Horning, and Noah Rachor. Junior Reps are Rachel Sperry and Beecher Warren; Sophomore Reps are Jillian Kaye and Matt Flowers; and Freshmen Reps are Jessie Eastman and James Kryza.

And the Homecoming dance begins at 8 p.m. at Fenton High School. It will conclude at 11 p.m.

On Monday, the senior girls played the juniors in Powderpuff football, with the seniors winning 28-14, said Fenton High School teacher Jill Starr.

Today’s Spirit Day is Orange & Black Day. Other Spirit Days were Monday - Monochrome Day (wear one color), Tuesday - Twin Day, Wednesday - Olympics Day (wear red, white and blue, or represent a specific sport), and Thursday - Crazy Hair Day.
