Karlie Dieck, daughter of Kim Kostelic-Dieck of Fenton, is co-Valedictorian of the class of 2012 with a 4.0 grade point average. Karlie has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, Student Council for four years, a member of Key Club, a Youth Leadership Genesee representative, Wyld Life leader and a Lake Fenton School Board student representative for two years.  She has participated in basketball for three years, both track and volleyball for two years and softball for one year.  Karlie has received the Elite Merit Scholarship from Lawrence Technological University where she will study Biomedical Engineering while playing college basketball.

Ashley Rinks, daughter of MaryEllen and Amos Rinks of Fenton, is co-Valedictorian of the class of 2012 with a 4.0 grade point average. Ashley has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, a Student Council representative for four years, and a member of both Young Life for three years and Wyld Life for a year.  She has participated in varsity softball for four years and varsity volleyball for three years, serving as captain of both teams.  Ashley plans to study Architecture at Notre Dame.

Kathryn Handley, daughter of Pamela and Charles Handley of Fenton, is Salutatorian of the class of 2012 with a 3.989 grade point average. Kathryn has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, a Student Council representative for four years and a committee chair for the Youth Advisory Committee for four years. She’s been a member of Young Life for four years, serving as a youth leader to Wyld Like during the last two years.  Kathryn has also participated in athletics playing both volleyball and basketball for four years, softball during her freshman year and track the last two years.  She plans to graduate from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Andrea Roe, daughter of Teal and David Roe of Fenton, is third in the class of 2012 with a 3.937 grade point average. Andrea has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, a member of Marching Band for three years serving as a section leader during 2010-11. She also participated in both Pep Band and Quiz Bowl from  2009-10. Andrea also participated in athletics running cross country from 2008-11. She also played softball from 2009-11, including travel softball from 2009-12. Andrea most recently received the Voice of Democracy Speech Scholarship from the VFW.  Her plans include a B.S. in Nursing at the University of Michigan-Flint.

Emily Hawes, daughter of Julie and Duane Hawes of Fenton, is fourth in the class of 2012 with a 3.906 grade point average. Emily has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and a representative on Student Council for two years. She has been involved with Symphonic Band for four years and Marching Band for five years, serving as section leader for the last three years. Her athletic participation includes volleyball for four years and softball her freshman year. Emily has been accepted into the HealthPro Start at Wayne State University, receiving their Green Scholarship to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, later earning a Master’s degree as a Radiologist Assistant.

Edona Vitija, daughter of Shqipe and Tahir Vitija of Fenton, is fifth in the class of 2012 with a 3.899 grade point average. Edona has been a member of both the National Honor Society and Key Club for three years, serving as Treasurer for each organization during the last year. She also served on Student Council from 2010-11 as a class representative. Her athletic participation includes volleyball during her freshman year, and Powderpuff Squad 2010-12. Edona has numerous volunteer experiences including NHS Blood Drives, working at the North End Soup Kitchen and tutoring students in science and math. She plans to attend the University of Michigan-Flint to earn her Bachelor’s in Nursing, then work toward becoming a Physician’s Assistant while helping others through volunteer activities. 

Morgan Perry, daughter of Jeanie and David Perry of Fenton, is sixth in the class of 2012 with a 3.885 grade point average. Morgan has been a member of National Honor Society  for three years, 4-H from 2005-09 and Teenquest from 2008-2009. She has been active in Concert Band from 2004-12, Pep Band from 2007-10, Marching Band from 2007-12 and Photography Club from 2009-10. Morgan plans to attend The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor to eventually become a Neurologist.

Ellen Packard, daughter of Charlene and Scott Packard of Fenton, is seventh in the class of 2012 with a 3.872 grade point average. Ellen was been involved in Theater from 2008-10, and she played soccer in 2009 and 2011. She’s received Scholastic Honors awards for 2008-09 and 2009-10, a Top Ten award in 2010-11 and the Algebra 2 award in 2010-11. Ellen plans to study Advertising and Public Relations at Grand Valley State University.

Deanna Patrosso, daughter of  of Terri and David Patrosso of Fenton is eighth in the class of 2012 with a 3.854 grade point average. Deanna has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and a Student Council member for two years. She has participated in Marching Band for four years and Concert Band for eight years.  Her athletic involvement includes playing softball for two years. Deanna has volunteered at both Adopt-a-Pet of Fenton and Fenton Extended Care for four years. She has also volunteered at St. John’s Catholic Church for the past seven years. Deanna has received a Mertit Scholarship and a Tuition Scholarship, both from the University of Michigan-Flint, where she plans to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.

Marta Watters, daughter of Lynne and Douglas Watters of Fenton, is ninth in the class of 2012 with a 3.820 grade point average. Marta has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, a Newspaper editor for one year and a student representative on the Lake Fenton Instructional Policy Committee for three years. Her athletic involvement includes cross country for three years and track for two years. She’s also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Fenton. Marta has received the Good Citizen Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution. She plans to study Art and History at the University of Michigan-Flint to become a Museum Curator.

Marie Adams, daughter of Angela and John Adams of Fenton, is tenth in the class of 2012 with a 3.813 grade point average. Marie has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, currently as vice-president, Symphonic Band for four years and Marching Band for five years. Outside of school, Marie has been active in several styles of dance over a 12-year period, including Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, African and Pom. She is also a Black Belt (Cho Dan) in Tang Soo Do.  Marie received the Oakland University Geographic Region Award. She plans to attend Michigan State University  to pursue a degree in Secondary Education to become an English teacher.
