Lake Fenton Theatre Presenting the Wizard of Oz

Show will be performed Dec. 8 through Dec. 11.

Lake Fenton Theatre will host their stage presentation of the musical The Wizard of Oz Dec. 8 and through Dec. 11, at Lake Fenton High School.

Cameo appearances throughout the run will be made by elected officials, coaches, administrators and teachers from throughout the Lake Fenton District and include Superintendant Wayne Wright, Township Trustee Tony Brown, district Principals Todd Reynolds, Dan Ferguson, Kathleen Conover and Sonya Shaughnessy, staff members Jamie Pattison, Shannon Culver, Kristin Polk, Jason Taylor and Ryan Gonder, as well as Athletic Director Tony Simmons and Middle School Wrestling Coach Robert Zoll, who has taken on quite an extensive supporting role in the production.  

The large student cast includes Sydney Wolgast - a newcomer to the LF Stage— as Dorothy Gale, played in the MGM Classic by Judy Garland, she is the lonely and sad Kansas farm girl who dreams of a better place.

Stage veteran Corinne Brown will play Glinda the Good Witch as well as Aunt Emily Gale and a number of cameos in the chorus numbers too. While the three Ozian friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion are played by Sierra Harbin, Cullen O’Donnell and Donovan Leary respectively. They are all traveling to see the Great Wizard of OZ, played by Raied Jawhari and must overcome the trials laid out by the Wicked Witch of the West, played by Patricia Whittaker.  

A very involved supporting cast includes members Aimee Craig, Analisa Reed, Aubrey MacDonald, Bailey Phegley, Brianna Rak, Brooke Gow, Casey DeMoss, Hannah Dershem, Kenny Whittaker, Kyle Willoughby, Miranda Bubin, Skylor Smith, Stephan Wilson, Stephanie Thompson, Tristan Hagenstein, Zachary Finkbeiner and Zach Zoll.

The Munchkin chorus is made up of students from the Torrey Hill Intermediate School and their young siblings and include Shiloh Lichowid-Smith as the Mayor, Collin Wade as the Barrister, and Ryan Fogle as the Coroner, with dual Munchkin and Flying Monkey roles being played by cast members Olivia Barr, Alexander Bunting, Emily Elrich, Abigail Fletcher, Winona Gibson, Reagan Harris, Meghan Hibbard, Jaylyn Hodges, Megan Hughes, Madison LaBonte, Gabrielle LaBonte, Ivy Lynch, Autumn Lynch, Briana Mance, Madisen McDaniel, Sara Mitchell, Samantha Murphy, Allison Osborne, Libby Pethick, Benjamin Polehna, Brianna Polehna, Hannah Polzin, Makenna Spohn, Tori Stewart, Miranda Stewart, Grace TurBurgh, Colin TurBurgh, Zoe Thompson, Lacey Thompson, Kamaya Whittaker and Bailey Wilson.  

A technically complex theatrical production, this stage presentation of Wizard of Oz uses as much of the aura of the film as is possible to create an adaption for live stage performance in a modern theatre – without the terror some children have associated with some of the scenes in the movie. 

Public performances of The Wizard of Oz are Thursday through Sunday, December 8 - 11.  Curtain times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at .   Adult tickets are $8 and students and senior citizens, are $5 and will be available beginning Dec. 1 at the High School office or may be purchased at the door.  

OUTREACH SPECIAL: In an effort to reach out to our local community, the Lake Fenton Theatre has established a personal health and hygiene drive.  Coined Hope at Home, the theatre group is offering a $2 discount on adult priced tickets for patrons who donate three or more personal health and/or hygiene items.
