Week in Review: Earth Day Recap, Patch's Blog Initiative, Lake Fenton School Board Election
Rounding out our selections were a recap of the Community Parent meeting about drug abuse, our Adopt-A-Pet feature and the crowning of Mr. Fenton.
The last week of April was soggy, but it was awash with activity nonetheless. Monday saw the inclement weather nearly threaten to several local sports activities, as two baseball games were canceled.
But as the week progressed, athletics forged on. The Fenton High School girls soccer team traveled Tuesday to nearby Linden, where the girls their crosstown rivals 2-1.
We also covered a variety of issues related to drug abuse, including our Mom's Talk, which posed the question: When is the to begin talking with children about the dangers of drugs?

Monday
Contributor Ellie Shansky recapped some of the highlights from Saturday's initiatives. She gave readers some sound advice on green living and on how to better tend to Mother Earth.

Wednesday
We ran a piece about a between parents and community officials to discuss the all-too-real dangers of drug abuse that face young people in the community.
Community Parent, an organization formed to promote education about the effects of drugs in schools, hosted the event.
Thursday
Our ran to promote an adoption event Saturday at . All money raised – including funds collected through its bake sale – went directly to the Adopt-A-Pet organization.
Friday
The election for the three open seats on the is Tuesday. In anticipation of our readers heading to the polls to cast their votes for these positions, we ran vying for these seats.
Saturday
On Friday night, Fenton High School hosted its annual pageant. The event, which is put on by the school's theater program, featured eight students competing in a variety show for the crown of Mr. Fenton. Senior Bryan Terry topped his competitors and beamed about the honor in our video recap of the show.
