Applefest Road Races are Saturday

The 32nd annual St. John Applefest run/walk events start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

The 10K run starts at 9 a.m.; the 5K run/walk at 9:15 a.m., the Apple Core one-mile at 10 a.m. and the Apple Core-ter (1/4) mile at 10:30 a.m.

All races start and finish near St. John Church and are run through the scenic Fenton area, flat, fast,
100% paved roads. (Adelaide St. and North Rd. will be closed from 8:30 to 11a.m. - please plan accordingly.)

No walkers are allowed on the 10K run course to ensure the safety of all participants and to meet local traffic requirements.

Late registration and packet pickup will be held on Friday, Sept. 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at St. John School. Race day registration takes place in the entertainment tent at the north end of the school from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on the
morning of the race.

Make checks payable to St. John Applefest.

Cost for 5K and 10K events are $20, XXL shirt is available for an extra $2; Apple Core one-mile is $12; Apple Core-ter is $8.

Awards for the 10K run, 5K run and 5K walk go to overall and master, male and female. Personalized awards will be given to at least the top three finishers in each age group, deeper by percentage in larger age groups.

The top 10 male and female finishers in the one-mile run will receive an award. Also, an overall award to first wheeler in  Para, Quad, Quad 1A and Female.

For the kids' Apple Core-Ter mile, all entrants ages 1-10 will receive a medal.

Water, Fruit Juice, Fresh Apples provided near the finish line. For an additional charge, a pancake breakfast is available in the food tent on the Applefest Midway.
