Fenton Applefest Road Race Winners Announced

Events included 5K run, 5K walk, 10K run and 1-mile run/walk; also a 'Core-ter Mile' fun event for youngsters.

The winners of the St. John Applefest Road Races included some familiar names from the Fenton area.

Lisa Veneziano, 47, of Fenton, was the female overall 10K winner in 39:06, with Kirk Walrath, 42, of Fenton, winning the male masters title in 34:10.

The 10K male overall winner was Kreg Hatfield, 34, of Flint, in 33:14, and the female masters winner was Kathy Sndyer, 48, of Flushing, in 43:00.

The female overall winner for the 5K run was Suzanne Larsen, 34, of Fenton, in 17:06, while her husband, Eric Larsen, 41, was the male masters winner in 17:27. Sean Rosalez, 22, of Davison, won the 5K run in 16:56.

Seryozha Gerkov took second in the 5K run men's category in 17:00, while Pamela Rynearson was second in the women's category in 19:44. Marie Morgan was third for the women in 20:54. The female masters winner was Rosie Marano, 49, of Grand Blanc, in 22:02.

In the 5K walk, Anthony Mora, 52, of Fenton, was the male overall winner in 30:24, and Susan Mora Fassett, 49, of Fenton, was the female overall winner in 30:20.

And Harry Gabalis, 65, of Caro, was the male masters winner in 31:20, while Carolyn Thompson, 47, of Fenton, was female masters winner in 31:19.

For the 1-mile run/walk, Harrison Vincil, 9, took first in 6:10; Joshua Meyer, 11, of White Lake, was second in 6:14, and Mallory Lehmann, 9, was third in 6:51.
