Traffic Delays Expected on North Leroy Street Wednesday

Construction will switch to the other side of the street.

On Wednesday the traffic flow through the construction project on North Leroy Street will shift.

The north and south bound traffic will be placed on the new asphalt along the east half of the street so the construction crew can begin repairs to the west side of N. Leroy St. The traffic shift will take place between 7 a.m. and noon, during which time there will be traffic signal changes, relocation of the construction barrels and movement of the traffic lanes. There will be traffic delays in this area during this time.

"Once the shift is completed the traffic should move easily through the construction corridor while the remaining work is completed,"Fenton Public Works Director Daniel Czarnecki said in a news release.

“Business dropped as soon as they put the barrels down,” said Stan Lamrouex, manager of on North Leroy Street. “I think a lot of people are avoiding the area. It was bumper to bumper traffic when it started, but now there are not as many cars.”
