Fenton Fire Department Hosts Open House on Saturday

Annual event is part of National Fire Prevention Week.

The Fenton Fire Department will host its annual Fire Prevention Open House from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

The fire department is one of many throughout the area hosting an open house as part of National Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 6-12.

This year's theme is preventing kitchen fires, according to a post on the city's web site.

The event will feature children's activities including a fire truck bounce house, firefighter games, climbing on the trucks, a helicopter from the University of Michigan, and a chance to meet your firefighters.

All events are free and will include a fire safety message.

The fire station is located at 205 E. Caroline.
