Fenton Officials Discuss Cornerstone, US 23 Accident Brings Traffic to a Halt

As usual, there was plenty of news in Fenton this week.

Here is a look at what you might have missed. We provided you with the news about Lake Fenton High School's new cross country course, and the 5K Run/Walk that will be open to the community on Oct. 13. Fenton Patch had the story on the Linden Autumn Festival plans, for those looking for some weekend fun. Fenton Patch is looking for a new Facebook Page cover photo. We told you how you can submit your photo, to possibly be featured on our Facebook page and website. Fenton Patch will do a story about the winner. Also on Tuesday, we had the Police Blotter from the Fenton Police Department, which let you know about stolen gasoline and beer taken from a local store. And Tuesday's Fenton Patch had the names and times of the Applefest Road Races …

Fenton Applefest Road Race Winners Announced

Events included 5K run, 5K walk, 10K run and 1-mile run/walk; also a 'Core-ter Mile' fun event for youngsters.

The winners of the St. John Applefest Road Races included some familiar names from the Fenton area. Lisa Veneziano, 47, of Fenton, was the female overall 10K winner in 39:06, with Kirk Walrath, 42, of Fenton, winning the male masters title in 34:10. The 10K male overall winner was Kreg Hatfield, 34, of Flint, in 33:14, and the female masters winner was Kathy Sndyer, 48, of Flushing, in 43:00. The female overall winner for the 5K run was Suzanne Larsen, 34, of Fenton, in 17:06, while her husband, Eric Larsen, 41, was the male masters winner in 17:27. Sean Rosalez, 22, of Davison, won the 5K run in 16:56. Seryozha Gerkov took second in the 5K run men's category in 17:00, while Pamela Rynearson was second in the women's category in 19:44. …
