A lot of controversy has surrounded Corrine Baker's book, "A Mother's Plea and Journey to Forgiveness."
A former Tyrone Township woman believes she shouldn't have plead guilty to second-degree murder of her 4-year-old son and is trying to tell the world through a new book. In A Mother's Plea and Journey to Forgiveness, Corrine Baker says she is innocent in the death of Dominick Calhoun, who was beaten and tortured to death in April 2010 inside an Argentine Township apartment. The book hasn't been without controversy. The original title I Didn't Kill My Baby was changed and an online petition has been started in efforts to stop the sale of the book. She said her trial lawyer told her than a battered women's expert said she had no case, but that expert never contacted Baker, according to the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. The article …

This article is written by Denise Cline, of Dominick's Warriors. Dominick’s Warriors is taking part in the Relay for Life this year. As child abuse advocates and strong members of our community, we feel it is imperative to take part in all aspects of raising awareness of all killers of children, not only child abuse. Renee Ungerleider lost her Mother Paulette Hart at the age of 38 to breast Cancer in 1990. Renee was only 17 and her sister was 12. In honor of Renee’s Hero we have formed Team Dominick’s Warriors Relay for Life. We are also aware of how many people…

Dominick's Law in Michigan stems from beating death of Argentine boy, 4, in 2010; The Million March Against Child Abuse will be in April 2013.
Editor's Note: This is a column by Denise Cline, of Dominick's Warriors. "Dominick’s Warriors is a grass roots group of people lead by Dominick’s grandpa Rick Calhoun, who not only persisted in getting Dominick’s Law passed in Michigan but are also relentless in raising awareness in child abuse. Dominick Calhoun was only 4-years-old when he was beaten to death by Brandon Hayes for having an accident while watching TV. Brandon Hayes beat Dominick from April 8, 2010 Until April 11, 2010 when three courageous young women saw Dominick and Corrine Baker laying on the floor and called Rick Calhoun and the police. Dominick and his mother Corrine were taken to the hospital and Dominick was placed on life support. On April 12, 2010 Dominick was …
