Demolition Begins to Make Way for Boston's The Gourmet Pizza in Fenton

Building was formerly Andrico's and O'Malleys Galley.

Demolition on the building that once housed Andrico's and O'Malley's Galley on Owen Road near US 23 began this week. Owners plans to open a Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza franchise at 3324 Owen Road. The Fenton City Council has approved a liquor license transfer in February of last year. Boston's The Gourmet Pizza has more than 350 locations in Canada and 50 in the United States and Mexico, according to its website. The only location in Michigan is in Shelby Township. The restaurant specializes in pizza and pasta.

New Fenton Halo Burger Location Won't Open Until Wednesday

Restaurant was scheduled to open Monday.

Halo Burger fans will have to wait a couple days for the opening of the restaurant's new location. Halo Burger will open a new location just a few short blocks away from its present location at 1464 N. Leroy St.in a building formerly occupied by a Burger King franchise at 1355 N. Leroy St. Because of unforeseen complications, Halo Burger is not able to open on Monday, Jan. 7, however, the restaurant will open on Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to a news release.  The newly purchased building will not only offer Halo Burger more visibility with a freestanding location, but additional space for patrons with more seating and a play space for youth. Old Fenton Fire Hall, ReSale 360 Lead Busy Year in Fenton Business

There was plenty of business news in Fenton during 2012.

Here is a look at some of the businesses profiled by Fenton Patch in 2012. Old Fenton Fire Hall The top business news in Fenton in 2012 had to be the old Fenton Fire Hall. The Fenton Downtown Development Authority had a lease agreement with Michigan Brewing Company officials, but after many delays, the DDA eventually terminated the lease after MBC officials were evicted from their headquarters in Webberville. The DDA accepted four new applications and finally chose the Clarkston Union owners over the Arbor Brewing Company to renovate the building. Fenton Couple Wins Award for Same-Day Wedding Videos

Aaron and Shelby Mayberry own and operate Style & Motion, a wedding photography and video business.

Once Aaron Mayberry, 28, got married, he figured he was pretty done with weddings, except perhaps for the occasional invitation. He certainly didn’t think he’d be traveling the country attending weddings as a big part of his career. The Fenton resident and his wife started Style & Motion, a wedding videography company, as a side business in 2009. However, the company’s popularity grew and it became a full time gig for the couple.  “If someone told me we'd be traveling all over the place filming weddings for $5,000, I would of called them crazy,” Mayberry said. Old Fenton Fire Hall Opening Date Pushed Back

The Fenton Downtown Development Authority will amend the lease delay the opening date deadline by two months.

Fenton residents have waited a long time for the old Fenton Fire Hall to be morphed into a restaurant and have the doors opened. Now, they might have to wait just a bit longer. With changes in the construction and expansions planned for the building, Clarkston Union owner Curt Catallo asked the Fenton Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to push back the opening date from April 30, 2013 to June 30, 2013. Catallo said it might not be possible to begin the foundations and outdoor work for the project until the season changes. The DDA approved the lease amendment at its meeting Tuesday. Catallo said the restaurant might be open before June 30. The group also accepted a quit claim deed for two parcels of city property that are needed for …

Spoonz Lakeside Tavern Opens in Fenton

Restaurant/bar opened its doors Tuesday at the former Tee Bone'z site.

Spoonz Lakeside Tavern opened its doors for the first time Tuesday. The restaurant/bar opened in the former Tee-Bonez site after months of construction and clean-up. "It's been a little hectic, but we opened the doors, people came in and we already have people making reservations," manager Sam Khal said. The restaurant will offer a rotating menu, along with live bands outdoors in the summer and many docks on Lake Ponemah for boats to park. "Everyone is really excited," said Sarah Hester, girlfriend of owner Scott Spooner. "We have a really good staff and a lot of good people working here.

Round Town Cupcakes Set to Open in Fenton

Shop that specializes in gourmet cupcakes is expected to open at 409 South Leroy Street in Fenton.

Those looking for something new and sweet for the holidays in Fenton can soon rejoice...and indulge. Round Town Cupcakes is expected to open in downtown Fenton before the holiday season. The sweet shop will specialize in homemade gourmet cupcakes. Mother and son Nick and Theresa Karayanis formed the company in 2010 and have sold cupcakes for wedding, birthdays and other events as well as at Burger Street Grille & Cafe in Flint. The family, which has always lived in Genesee County, is excited to open its first storefront in Fenton, which will take the former location of Edge Gallery at 409 South Leroy Street. “I have always loved Fenton.
