Fenton Patch Best of Business

Coffee Shop Owner Wants Gatsby Grind to be Fenton's Living Room

Business wants to bring 1920s feel to Fenton.

Fady Elias doesn’t want the Gatsby Grind to be just another coffee shop. He wants it to be Fenton’s living room. Elias also decided to translate his love of the 1920s and the Great Gatsby to the new shop’s theme. “The 1920s was so rich. In this depressed economy, what’s better than the roaring 20’s when business was booming and things were good,” Elias said. Elias is using a 1920s type mustache as his logo and is found on many of the …

Wow, Aroma over The Laundry? Personally, I prefer the coffee at the Laundry above all else. Strong and hearty, but probably too much for some, which could explain the results.   more ›

Fenton Biggby Coffee Set to Open Tuesday

Shop will run drink specials for first week.

Biggby Coffee is ready to open its doors to Fenton. Again. A franchise opened in 2008 on Owen Road, but closed a short time later due to internal problems. Starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Biggby will have another go-round. "We are superexcited," said franchise owner Kris Kildea. "We have great neighbors, the city has been wonderful and we have a great bunch of baristas." Biggby has set up shop in the Fenton Square complex, located at 235 N. LeRoy St. The location has a drive-through and free Wi-Fi. Kildea said the interior of the building is completed and the only thing left to finish is some landscaping to the exterior. She has also been busy training a crew of 20. “I’ve been working with the landlord and the complex around the clock to make …
