Jarding said Jingle Jog was very well-organized. “I like to run on black top, so that was really good,” she said of the course. DeLarvergne liked the mild weather for the race. It’s not the only race they’ve run together. “She runs half marathons,” DeLavergne said. They ran a 30K together in Wyoming through the Big Horn mountains, Jarding added. “That was an adventure,” …

Property tax values are leveling off after four years; organization has 12 new programs for adults, teens and children.
Like many entities that depend on property taxes, Southern Lakes Parks and Recreation (SLPR) has had some tough times. But after four years of decreasing property values, funding is recovering, said Director Vince Paris. "The last four years has been somewhat brutal," Paris said. "It's finally leveled off." Last year's property tax revenue was $381,000, he said, and this year, it's within a couple hundred dollars of that. Lauren Peabody, also of Fenton, went to the market for the first time with her baby daughter, Amelia. "I love it," Peabody said.
