Fenton Police Ticket Teen for Marijuana Possession, Missing Safe Reported

Fenton Police ticketed a 17-year-old Linden resident for possession of marijuana on Feb. 17 after a traffic stop. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a call around 11:50 p.m. about the possible theft from a vehicle on the 900 block of Granger Street. Police responded to the area and officers observed a vehicle speeding away on North Leroy Street, the report said. Police officers conducted a traffic stop and observed individuals switching locations inside the car, Aro said, which raised suspicions from the officer. Police found a small amount of marijuana on one of the passengers, Aro said, and the individuals were taken to the police department for questioning. 85-Year-Old Fenton Man in Porsche Arrested on Drunken Driving Charges

Fenton police arrested an 85-year-old Fenton man on drunken driving charges after witnesses reported a man driving recklessly in a Porsche on North Leroy Street. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said officers spotted the vehicle near North Leroy and Main Street around 1:20 p.m. Feb. 5 and conducted a traffic stop. The report said officers noticed a strong smell of intoxicants and adminstered a preliminary breath test that showed a blood/alcohol content of .16, twice the legal limit of .08. The man was held in the Genesee County Jail and was given a notice to appear in court for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Aro said. Loud Father and Son Argument Leads to Marijuana Charges

Fenton Police ticketed a 17-year-old Fenton resident for possession of marijuana after police were called to investigate a loud noise complaint in an apartment at 12:40 a.m. Feb. 5 on the 15000 block of Silver Parkway. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said a father and son had been in a heated argument. During the investigation, the report said the officer smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana. When asked about the smell, the 17-year-old admitted that he had recently smoke marijuana and showed police just more than a gram of the drug, Aro said. Car Damaged in Fenton High School Parking Lot

Fenton Police are investigating a destruction of property case after a car was damaged in the Fenton High School parking lot. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said that someone knocked of both side view mirrors and smashed the driver’s side window of a 1999 Mercury on Jan. 25. Aro said there was a GPS and some other valuable sitting in the front seat of the vehicle, but were not taken. Police have no suspects. Theft from a vehicle A Fenton resident reported that someone stole a GPS, check book containing credit cards and three bottles of prescription medication from a vehicle parked on the 800 block of 3rd Street on Jan. 25. Fenton Man Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Holly Bar Death

Police say Evan James Wells punched Highland's Ronald Smith, who fell and hit his head on the cement at a Holly bar and died three days later.

Fenton resident Evan James Wells has pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in Oakland County Circuit Court and also to being a Habitual Fourth Offender. Sentencing will take place at Oakland County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. Wells is held at Oakland County Jail pending sentencing. Police responded to a call from Martini’s Bar & Grill in the Village of Holly for an assault complaint on Friday, Oct. 12. Officers arrived and found a 43-year-old Highland man lying unconscious outside the bar, according to Holly police. Rescue crews transported the victim, who police have identified as Ronald Smith, 43, of Highland, to Genesys Regional Medical Center, where he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead three days later, …

Fenton Police Arrest Man After Scuffle with Officer

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fenton Police arrested a 45-year-old Fenton resident for a noise violation and resisting arrest after a physical altercation with a police officer Sunday. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a noise complaint from a resident on the 100 block of Trealout Drive. Police made contact with the suspect and told him he was violating the city noise ordinance. Aro said the man became upset with police officers before they left the home. Police receive the another noise complaint from the same location around 2 a.m. Jan. 27 stating that someone in the apartment complex was making a lot of noise that sounded like a large rock being dropped on the floor and it was scaring small children, Aro said. Fenton Man Arraigned on Armed Robbery Charges

A Fenton man has been arraigned on armed robbery charges after police say he robbed Clark Gas Station at gunpoint Wednesday. Michael Joseph Craig has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a felony and possession of a stolen firearm, police said. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a call from the Clark Gas Station on North Leroy Street at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday when a clerk told police she was robbed at gunpoint. The report stated that the man had a black pistol in his waistband and demanded money. Police said she told officers the suspect wearing a camouflaged jack and hat with jeans left the store and headed east on Third Street. Fenton Police Arrest Man Walking Home from Bar on Felony Warrant

Fenton Police arrested a 48-year-old Grand Haven man early Sunday morning on a felony warrant. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a complaint about an intoxicated man in the middle of the road near the 700 block of Torrey Road. Aro said an officer contacted the man, who had blood in his mouth and told the officer he fell while walking home from the bar. While checking his information, the officer discovered the man had a felony drunk driving third warrant out of Grand Blanc. He was arrested held overnight at the Fenton Police Department, pending a court appearance on the warrant. Fenton Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

Police say the suspect robbed Clark Gas Station in Fenton at gunpoint Wednesday.

Fenton Police arrested a 23-year-old Fenton resident after an armed robbery at a Fenton gas station and brief standoff at home Wednesday afternoon. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a call from the Clark Gas Station on North Leroy Street at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday when a clerk told police she was robbed at gunpoint. The report stated that the man had a black pistol in his waistband and demanded money. Police said she told officers the suspect wearing a camouflaged jack and hat with jeans left the store and headed east on Third Street. Tools and Knives Stolen from Fenton Garage

Fenton Police are investigating a theft complaint from a 44-year-old Fenton resident who reported someone entered his unlocked garage on the 500 block of North Oak Street and took $100 in tools and $100 in knives.
