Pets Available for Adoption Around Fenton

Several dogs and cats are available for adoption this week through Genesee County Animal Control. Meet them on them Saturday, May 11 at an adoption event.

Several dogs and cats are currently available for adoption or rescue through Genesee County Animal Control. This week, the department is reminding residents about an adoption event from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Wendling Orthodontics, 1100 S. Linden Road in Flint. Please don't adopt pitbulls and bring them to Fenton. These are very aggressive and powerful dogs. If you take the trip up to Pasadena in Flint you will see why these aggressive animals are so desired in these high crime areas. You don't need an animal in Fenton that has a lot of power and aggression.   more ›

Pet of the Week: 'Gracie' Desperately Needs a Home

Several dogs and cats are available for adoption this week through Genesee County Animal Control.

Several dogs and cats are currently available for adoption or rescue through Genesee County Animal Control. This week, the department is highlighting Akita mix 'Gracie' who is described as gentle, kind and great with kids. She is available free to a rescue organization or can be be adopted privately if you talk with Director Walt Rodenbaugh. Gracie will be euthanized if a home or rescue cannot be found, according to the department's most recent post on Fenton Patch. Pet of the Week: Puppy for Adoption is a 'Timid Soul'

Several dogs and cats are available for adoption this week through Genesee County Animal Control.

Several dogs and cats are currently available for adoption or rescue through Genesee County Animal Control. This week, the department is highlighting the 5-month-old “red-headed” mix-breed dog seen in the photo to the right. His adoption fee is $50, which will be refunded after he is neutered. He is described by the shelter as a "timid soul" and has "been waiting patiently but needs to get out of the shelter." For more information on this dog, contact Cheri Martin at cherispt@comcast.net. Genesee County Animal Shelter to Extend Hours

The facility will stay open until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 6 to make it easier for residents to adopt dogs and cats.

The Genesee County Animal Control Department is making it easier for residents to adopt dogs and cats by extending its shelter hours. The GCAC shelter, located G-4351 West Pasadena Avenue in Flint, will stay open until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 6. The rest of its hours are as follows.
