The Memory Tree in Fenton’s Oakwood Cemetery is up and ready for people to place ornaments. Haddon Nursery, of Fenton, donated the evergreen, which it has done for three years, said Cemetery Board President Doug Tebo. People can hang an ornament to honor a loved one’s memory, or just to honor a loved one who is deceased or living, Tebo said. Members of the military can be honored in this way. “We’ve had great response from it,” he said. All participants need to do is bring an ornament — homemade or from a store — and place it on the tree. Because of the possibility of breaking, no glass ornaments should be used, he said. Many local children and seniors will have a gift on Christmas morning, courtesy of the 61st Community Wrap-In in Memory of Nancy Stockham. The event organizers, in honor of the late social worker from Fenton, are seeking donations and volunteers. It will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 6, at the Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road, Fenton. New item drop offs will be today through Dec. 5, at the Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad St., Linden. The Linden Presbyterian Church is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
