Man Arrested for Drunken Driving With 2 Flat Tires, Brighton Police Search for Women Who Spent $10,000 on Stolen Credit Cards

Man Arrested for Drunken Driving After Driving With 2 Flat Tires A 36-year-old Pontiac resident was arrested on charges of operating while under the influence (OUI) in White Lake, Jan. 12 at 5 a.m., after police said he was driving down M-59 with significant damage to his car and two completely flat tires. According to the report, an officer stopped the man after seeing the car's tail light was out and the car was sparking from driving with two flat tires. The tires were down to the rim, the report said. When the officer spoke with the man, the report states, the man told him he was on his way to his girlfriend's house and that he thought he was driving on Elizabeth Lake Road, not M-59. Drunk Woman Falls Asleep in Car on M-59, Off-Duty Deputy Helps Rescue Couple from Burning Home

White Lake Police: Woman Stops Car on M-59, Falls Asleep Behind the Wheel A 47-year-old woman from Howell was issued a citation for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after White Lake Township police say she passed out while her car was stopped on M-59 near Ormond. According to the report, police arrived on the scene Jan. 1 at 2:20 a.m. and found the woman in the car, with the door locked, unconscious. Her foot was on the brake pedal, and the car was stopped in the curb lane on M-59 in White Lake. The report states that an officer woke the woman once and she took her foot off the brake causing the car to move. She slammed her foot back on the brake and went back to sleep, the report …

More Than $79,000 Worth of Jewelry Stolen from Howell Ultra Diamonds, Suspected Drunken Driver Causes Serious Accident in Highland

Nearly $80,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from the Howell Ultra Diamonds store in the Tanger Outlet Mall on Dec. 8. at 1:16 a.m. Police said an unknown object was shoved through the tempered glass door and then used to pull outward. Inside the showroom, many of the glass display cases were broken with merchandise thrown around, according to the report. Police found wet footprints on dry cement, ripped cloth and a Marlboro cigarette butt near the door and blood on and in some of the broken display cases, the report said. Police Seek Public's Help Catching Thieves Targeting Rural Churches

Suspects in a string of burglaries have broken into 45 churches in Michigan and Ohio, including Argentine Township.

The Michigan State Police are asking residents for help to catch a group of thieves breaking into churches across southeast Michigan and Ohio. The suspects may be connected to at least 45 incidents since August. According to the Detroit News, the break-ins were reported in Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Livingston and Genesee counties, as well as Fulton County, Ohio. Police investigating the break-ins speculate the crimes are connected, and that the suspects are probably looking for drug money. Rural churches, where pastors or parishioners may not be back for days after a service, are low-risk targets. Most of the churches targeted didn't have security systems, and were broken into by prying open windows and doors. However, video …

Driver Threatened on Old US 23, White Lake Man Arrested for Retail Fraud Swallows Razor Blade at Station

The following is a roundup of crime reports from the areas around Fenton. On Nov. 19, a 53-year-old Waterford man was driving on Old US 23 and called 911 after another driver threatened him and then damaged his vehicle, according to a police report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.  Police said the incident occurred around 11 p.m. after the Waterford man had initially attempted to pass the car in front of him, which was travelling around 30 mph between Latson Road and Highland Road.  The front car had swerved into the path of the victim’s car, according to the report, and the Waterford man was unable to pass, but eventually moved into the right lane of traffic at the light at Highland Road and Old US 23.
