Fenton Students Get Snow Day on Wednesday

Fenton Area Public Schools and Lake Fenton Community Schools districts canceled classes Wednesday due to dangerous road conditions. The district is among many throughout Metro Detroit to do so, according to clickondetroit.com. A mix of rain and wet, heavy snow made for a messy evening commute Tuesday as Winter Storm Rocky moved through Fenton and the rest of southeast Michigan. Wet, Heavy Snowfall Expected Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for southeast Michigan, including Fenton.

Fenton could get half a foot of snowfall as a storm moves through the area beginning Tuesday, with more white stuff in the forecast Wednesday and Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for southeast Michigan beginning Tuesday afternoon, warning that 6 or more inches of wet, heavy snow could fall, creating hazardous conditions on area roadways and potentially overburdening power lines and causing outages. Snow is in the forecast through Thursday, according to the NWS: The area will get a break from the snow Friday when the high will be 30 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, according to the forecasting agency.
