Quick Change Scam, Larceny of Wallet

The following information was provided by the Fenton Police Department. An arrest does not necessarily mean a conviction.

Fenton police received a report of a quick change scam at Buffalo Wild Wings, in the 3000 block of Silver Lake Road, at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, said Chief of Police Rick Aro. The manager at the business called police, saying a man requested change for a $100 bill from a clerk, the police report said. As the clerk began making change, the man asked for several other transactions that resulted in him scamming more than $400, Aro said. The man is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a light complexion. He was wearing a green and gray, long-sleeved fleece shirt with a green winter hat, police said. Fenton Police Searching for Robbery Suspect Who Carried Handgun

Man with black semi-automatic robs Walgreen's on Silver Lake Road in Fenton on Friday, police say.

Fenton police are searching for a white male in connection with a robbery at Walgreen's Pharmacy, 3270 Silver Lake Road, at 8 p.m. Friday. Police are looking for a man who carried a black semi-auto handgun, the police report said. The suspect appears to be right handed, and he appeared to have several layers of clothes on, as if he works outside, according to the Fenton Police Department. If anyone recognizes the suspect, or the distinct green hooded sweatshirt with the number 22 on the back, Fenton police ask that they please contact Det. Ron Skarzynski (810) 577-5783 or Det. Scott Townsend (810) 397-2982. The green sweatshirt also has some white writing on the upper left chest area, the police report said.

Fenton Dispatcher Helps Solve 2 Crimes for 2 Departments

Danielle Shorrock works at the Fenton Police Department as a dispatcher, not a detective, but her actions Monday may lead you to believe otherwise. Shorrock helped solve two different crimes on her way home from work around 3 p.m. on Monday. She saw an Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy placing a red, chopper style bicycle with red flames on the seat, into his patrol car, said Chief of Police Rick Aro. The bicycle resembled one reported stolen in Fenton earlier that day. A 44-year-old Fenton woman reported her son’s bicycle stolen from the yard around 11:30 that morning, Aro said. She said an acquaintance of her son had taken the bike before without asking, but returned it soon afterward. Shorrock stopped and told the deputy about the stolen …

Police: $2,500 Stolen from Fenton's Michigan Coin Gallery

Three Fenton police cars were dispatched to an apartment in the 3400 block of Arbor Drive at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, for a report of a loud party. Chief of Police Rick Aro said, upon arriving, officers could hear noise from the party from outside the apartment. Police contacted the homeowner and discovered several subjects who were being loud and drinking, Aro said. While talking with the homeowner, officers noticed three suspected underage drinkers, the report said. The three, a woman and two men, agreed to preliminary breath tests, he said. After the preliminary breath tests, police found they had been drinking alcohol, Aro said. $60 in Gas Stolen, Beer Taken from VG's

At approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday, Fenton police received a call from BP gas station employees on Owen Road for a report of stolen gasoline, said Chief of Police Rick Aro. A store employee told an officer that an unknown man in his 30s pumped $60 of regular gas into his red Ford F150 pickup truck and left without paying. The store employee had a possible license plate number for the truck, which police later discovered was incorrect, Aro said. There are no other suspects or evidence. The red pickup truck possibly had a silver tool chest in the back of it, he said. Car Window Broken at Fenton High School, License Plate Missing

A 48-year-old Fenton woman toldFenton Police someone her license plate was missing from her vehicle, which was parked on the 600 block of South West Street. Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said the plate had been on her 2009 Saturn, and she last saw it on Sunday evening. The woman told police she discovered the plate missing on Tuesday. She gave officers her the number of the missing license plate, saying she had no idea who might have taken it, Aro said. Police told her to contact a Secretary of State's office to obtain a new license plate, and they would be sure the stolen plate is no longer valid, the police report said. Woman Throws Water Bottle at Vehicle, Laptop and TV Missing

A woman threw a bottle of water from her second story apartment, denting the hood of of an ex-boyfriend's vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 1, police said. A Fenton police car was dispatched to the intersection at North and Torrey roads, for a destruction of property complaint on a Fenton man's vehicle, said Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro. The man, 32, had visited his ex-girlfriend in the 1000 block of North Road to drop off some water for their child. He and the woman, 51, got in an argument and the man argued briefly before getting in his 1999 Ford Explorer, the police report said. Beaver, Coon Traps Stolen from Tyrone Township Barn

Barn broken into, items missing A Tyrone Township man reported that between the hours of 9:30 p.m. on August 24 and 8:30 a.m. on August 25, a barn on the 8000 block of Linden Road was broken into, according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. Police say the Tyrone Township man told them he noticed the barn door open, which is normally shut, and after checking inside found several items missing including beaver traps estimated at $80, coon traps estimated at $288, two chain saws estimated at $100, a framing gun estimated at $300 and fur stretchers estimated at $130. Week in Review: Freedom Festival, Tragedy Strikes with Two Drownings, More Talk on Chickens

The Fenton area mourned two drowning victims this week, an 11-year-old boy from Fenton who lost his life in Marl Lake and a 25-year-old man from Flat Rock who was visiting friends when he disappeared in Lake Fenton.
