Citing potential threats and the hype about Dec. 21 being the end of the world, Genesse and Lapeer County schools canceled classes and activities for the remainder of the week.
In a release from Genesee Intermediate School District, classes and all in-county activities for are canceled for all schools Dec. 20 and Dec. 21. A release from the ISD states: "It is clear that last Friday changed all of us. As educators, we acknowledge, and we believe our communities would agree, that schools are at the center of concern right now.
