Hometown: Fenton
Birthday: January 4
Bio: I've been writing stories for more than a decade, most of them in Fenton. I've covered homicides, fires, little league, professional golf and pretty much everything in-between. I graduated from Lake Fenton High School in the year 2000 and earned a journalism degree from Central Michigan University in 2004.
I love the outdoors. I camp every chance I get. The Great Lakes rule. I'm a sports nut. Hunter S. Thompson is my favorite author. I make homebrew. Cooking is fun. I love to hang out with my friends. I'm a fitness buff and a nutrition guru. I've self-published a novel and created a two-hour documentary film. I've won multiple Michigan Press Association Awards. My photos have appeared on ESPN.com. I'm always ready to tell a story.
Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
