About Kristina

I have a Bachelor's of Fine Art from College for Creative Studies and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from U of M - Flint.  I worked for eight years in Fenton planning community events and programs and for one year in Flint as the Director of a non-profit art studio.

Upon the birth of my second child, I decided I needed to step away from my professional ambitions for a while and focus on family.  As a result I left the world of arts administration and began caring for my 3 year old son and baby girl.  After about 9 months of doing the stay-at-home mom thing, it was time to get back to work.  Apparently I missed working more than I expected; however, I was not ready to jump into a full-time job.  The solution was to start my own business and let it grow as my children grow.

I currently own "KJohnston Presents..." where I provide event planning and graphic design services to local groups, parks & recreations, chamber of commerces, and private businesses.  I continue to take the kids to doctor's appointments, soccer classes, and the Linden SKIP program, along with all the other mom duties, but two days a week, I commit myself to my work, my art, and my community through my service to the Lakes Area Arts Council and the Fenton Fund Advisory Board.
