Fenton Community Orchestra Announces Holiday Concert

Group will play with Fenton Jazz Ensemble Dec. 6.

The Fenton Community Orchestra will host its holiday concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Auditorium.  

The concert will be . The orchestra will perform a variety of classical and holiday pieces. Admission to the concert is free.

Since Fenton Community Orchestra began in September 2010, it has had amazing growth and community support.  Achieving non-profit status in May 2011, pursuing beginning string classes with and working closely with area schools has allowed the orchestra to build a solid foundation.

The Fenton Community Orchestra's second season is partially funded by a generous grant from the Fenton Community Fund. The orchestra is led by music director, Andrew Perkins.      

Fenton Community Orchestra includes 60 musicians from Fenton and surrounding communities. The orchestra members range in age from 10 years old to adults in their 70's.

The orchestra is open to musicians who want a fun community experience and are willing to practice. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays from 6-8pm at the Fenton High School. The December 6 concert will conclude the fall semester and rehearsals will resume on January 19, 2012.
