Fenton Hosting Popular Craft Shows

The Fenton United Methodist Church Holiday Craft & Small Business Expo and The State Road Arts & Craft Show will take place the weekend of Nov. 17.

Fenton is known for a variety of great things, but now, thanks to a partnership between two local non-profits and several businesses it can be considered a weekend craft fair destination.

The large, well-known events, The Fenton United Methodist Church Holiday Craft & Small Business Expo and The State Road Arts & Craft Show, are now being held on the same weekend for the fourth year in a row, on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18.

“This is a great opportunity to bring the community out to both of these fabulous events,” says Bonnie Leyder of the Fenton United Methodist Church.

The weekend will kick off with the United Methodist Church Holiday Craft & Small Business Expo 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th. More than 70 vendors will fill two floors of the Family Life Center at 119 South Leroy Street, Fenton. Enjoy a lunch and fashion show to held at Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Fenton Business Coupons are available to the first 300 visitors. Door prizes, including a two night stay at the Fairfield Inn, a $75 French Laundry certificate and more will be given away. Thousands in prizes and silent auction items will also be available. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fenton UMC’s Family Life Center and its local ministries, and admission is $2.

The State Road Craft Show is now in its 37th year and features more than 160 juried vendors. The event benefits the State Road PTO with the proceeds funding scholarships, books, and supplies. It will take place at the Fenton High School at 3200 S Shiawassee in Fenton on Sunday, November 18th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Out of town visitors can use group rate discounts during the Craft Fair Weekend at Fenton’s Fairfield Inn. Call 810.629.0400 and mention code FCSN for a special rate of $74.99. Other businesses in town will have deals as well.

“It’s really going to be a special weekend,” says Leyder. “A lot of people really love craft shows, and we encourage visitors to come enjoy Fenton and all of the great businesses we have here.”
