Chasing the Dragon Video Voted Fenton Patch's Top Content of 2011

Video included many shocking sounds and images.

Fenton Patch brought you many gut-wrenching and heartwarming stories in 2011.

No story may have evoked more emotion than Community Parent's and perhaps that's why with 334 of 666 total votes.

We first ran a video of the program in March. It featured a real 911 call from Fenton teenager Briona Jawhari's death, a talk from a convicted drug dealer and a mock funeral. The story was shared on Facebook nearly 400 times and gave many viewers the chills.

One commenter posted on Fenton Patch, "My daughter is a sophmore at Lake Fenton. When this program, video, drug prevention program was at Lake Fenton, she came home shooken to the roots. She was very bothered by it and cried. She said mom, they even let us hear the 911 tapes. I must say also, when I just heard it on the computer, I had chills. She said mom I will never ever do drugs. ever. I hope to god she keeps her word."

From the gut-wrenching to the heartwarming, the next two top stories include young women who inspired many.

earned second place in our poll with 166 votes. Fenton teenager Katie Wyatt was battling kidney cancer when the community showed its support as more than 800 people showed up to Katie's Game, a fundraiser for Katie and her family.

“Everyone came out to see me. People I didn’t even know showed up,” Katie said the night of Katie's Game. “It was a lot of fun.”

Taking third place in our poll, was our Hometown Hero story on , who was chosen as the Huffington Post Greatest Person of the Day on Oct. 13. One of the most widely read stories on Fenton Patch, Ford touched many hearts through her battles with disease and bullying.

"What a wonder story of Gabe and Izzy. This is a real story of life that will touch many hearts forever," commented Chris Hooker on Fenton Patch. "Gabe you are a very special person as you share your pain that has turned in the joy of helping others."
