Katie's Friends and Family Aim to Grant Children's Wishes with Golf Fundraiser

, but her friends and family are still trying to make a difference in her honor.

They hosted a golf outing fundraiser Monday at , called

The funds raised will help Rainbow Connections, an organization that helps grant wishes for terminally ill Michigan children; assist a local family with a child battling cancer; and help establish a scholarship fund in Katie's name.

Doug Wyatt, Katie's father, said starting and working with the Katie Wyatt Memorial Foundation has helped carry on Katie's legacy and will help other children, although he said he doesn't think it will ever take away the pain of losing a daughter.
