Yesterday's Treasures Keeps Antiques Fresh

Shop has been downtown Fenton staple since 1998.

Yesterday's Treasures offer just that.

From vintage jewelry, to chandeliers and a variety of antiques, owner Susan Olson keeps her inventory fresh.

She recently submitted information about the business through the Small Business Spotlight.

Here are her answers.

What does your business offer?

We are an antique store that offers a wide variety of different items. Our inventory is constantly changing. We do tend to sell a lot of vintage costume jewelry. We are also very knowledgeable in glass and pottery. One of our other biggest sellers is our antique chandeliers.

What's your most popular product or service?

Our vintage jewelry is our most popular item. We love to help girls in any formal occasion such as proms, homecomings, and weddings. They can pick the perfect piece of jewelry for their dress. Creating memories is always a special treat for us on a someone's special day.

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?

We offer talks on vintage jewelry, depression glass, and other antiques. We can come to your event or we can schedule a special "after hours" time at the store.

When was the business founded?

April 1998

How did your business come to be?

My love of antiques has been a long passion for many years. I started out collecting with my Mom and my sister Marie. Years later, I had a store in South Lyon with a partner, but decided to go out on my own and have my own store. I work with my daughter Stacy.

Why did you choose the area you did?

We chose Fenton because we live and and love the community. The location of our store is perfect, because everyone goes to the Post Office and City Hall.
