Crime Report: Stolen Meat, Cigarettes

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police are investigating an instance of retail fraud after employees reported a man had stolen several packages of meat and left the story without paying.

VG’s officials told police that a man took several packages of meat from VG’s on Silver Parkway around 6 p.m. Nov. 8 and ran from the store, Chief Rick Aro said.

Aro said store officials pursued the man, but he refused to stop.

Fenton police are searching for a man that allegedly stole a carton of cigarettes from a gas station on the 1400 block of North LeRoy Street around 3:40 a.m. Nov. 8.

Aro said a store employee reported he set a carton of Newport’s on the counter and the man grabbed them, exited the store and ran westbound on South Long Lake Road.

Police were unable to locate the man and have no suspects.
