The case has been delayed on several occasions as evidence was gathered and charges were debated. The charges include , according to court records.
Robert Johnson testified on May 16, 2012 that Collins broke into his home, robbed him and shot him April 14, 2012 in Fenton Township. Johnson said he and Collins, 23, of Flint, exchanged gunfire that day on the 13000 block of Linden Road in the preliminary exam.

“I was trying to kill him because he was in my house trying to kill me,” Johnson told the court in May. “It was my life or his life.”
According to court records, the case is scheduled for a pre-trial on April 30 and a jury trial on May 1.
