Fire Destroys Fenton Township Barn

Structure burned around 3:30 a.m. on Ripley Road.

An abandoned barn burned to the ground in Fenton Township early Thursday morning.

Chief Ryan Volz said firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on Ripley Road between Rolston and Lahring Roads around 3:30 a.m. He said the structure was fully involved when crews arrived. The barn was about 576 square feet, Volz said.

Volz said firefighters are unsure of the cause, adding that lightning could have possibly started it.
