Police Blotter: Officers Investigating Death of Teenager

Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Fenton female.

Chief Rick Aro said the woman was found unresponsive in her bedroom around 10:45 a.m. Feb. 16 on the 500 block of Wood Street. Aro said firefighters performed CPR and then she was transferred to Genesys Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Aro said through information given to officers and some evidence at the scene, police believed the death could have been caused by a drug overdose.

Aro said the cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Posession of marijuana 

Police arrested a 23-year-old Fenton resident on charges of possession of marijuana after making a traffic stop on Silver Lake Road around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.

Aro said police pulled over the man for failure to obey a traffic signal, and then noticed the man acting nervously.

Aro said the officer asked the man if he had any illegal substances in the car and he responded that he had an eighth of an ounce of marijuana, a scale and drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested and booked at the Fenton Police Department and given a notice to appear at 67th District Court.
