Fenton Art Walk Artist Working on Kensington Metropark Piece

In the days leading up to the Fenton Art Walk, Fenton Patch will introduce you to some of the participating artists.

The is just around the corner.

On July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., merchants and artists will participate in the second-year event, and officials are hoping hundreds of residents will join the fun in downtown Fenton.

Visitors will be able to come to a booth in downtown Fenton (just outside ) and receive a map, which will include instructions along with artist and merchant information. People then can visit participating businesses to observe the art, meet the artists and explore what each store has to offer.

Residence: Highland

Type of art: Most of my art is done in soft pastel. I also enjoy watercolor, acrylic, oil and pen and ink. Most of my work is landscape and florals.

How did you get started as an artist?: Being inspired by a grade school art teacher I have pursued art most of my life in one way or another. Working with color and design for over 30 years has been very rewarding.

Describe your art: For the past 16 years I have concentrated on perfecting my art by taking numerous workshops by some highly acclaimed artists throughout the country. I work and teach in my studio and also paint plein air. I truly enjoy and am inspired by the gifts of God's creation. Living in the country in a peaceful woods surrounded by nature for 40 years has been wonderful for me and my family.

What is your next project?: My next project is a series of large 24 x 36 pastel paintings of the beautiful Kensington Metropark a place I have visited, walking biking and painting since I was a teenager. Most of my art is representational but I also like the abstract.

Where can your art be found?:  My art can be found in my studio by appointment. Also in Exclusively Walter in Traverse City and Brew Moon Coffee House and Gallery in Caseville.  For further information I also have a web site louiseazzoliartworksstudio.com.
