Patch Picks: Nonprofit Organizations

These five groups are making a difference in the Fenton area.

Patch is running a new weekly feature called Patch Picks, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off and more.  

You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more.

  • — Animal shelter for up to 12 dogs and 12 cats who wait for a new home.
  • Common Ground Helps youths, adults and families in crisis throughout Oakland County and beyond. Several locations surrounding Fenton.
  • United Way of Genesee County Works to improve the health and social well-being of the community by uniting people, developing resources and creating solutions to build a better community.
  • Food Bank of Eastern Michigan  Receives food surplus from the grocery industry. After the food is inspected and sorted, it is made available to charities that disburse it to those in need.
  • — Supports Boy Scout groups, Children's Miracle Network,  the Special Olympics and many other causes.
